Date: Sun, 5 May 2002 15:39:19 Subject: Productive time Prayer partners, Last Thursday's Bible study was excellent. Three of our regulars showed up, but a few that we anticipated didn't show up. That really didn't concern me, though, I like small intimate groups. As I said before the study is fifteen minutes long and all in English. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to develop anything of significance in only fifteen minutes, but it wasn't a problem at all, and everyone understood my English. After we concluded two of the students went to class, but the third has night classes so he stayed. I was able to spend the whole afternoon with him, and it was a very productive and encouraging time. I believe I will be able to spend most Thursday's with him from now on. He is a new believer and is shooting to become a judge or corporate lawyer when he graduates. One thing that is affecting the group is the International Church of Boston (http://www.gospelcom.net/apologeticsindex/i02.html and http://www.reveal.org/library/theology/crjicc.html), which is a cult that uses the Bible but twists certain texts to support their erroneous doctrines. I have been approached by one of their members on USP's main campus already and at least one of our Law School group members have been invited to their "Bible talks." The young man I met with Thursday is particularly preoccupied with their efforts at the law school. We expect at least one member of the cult to attend our Bible studies every now and then. Transportation issues have diminished a bit. I have found an alternate bus route to the Law school which cuts my travel time in half, and the train was unusually quick on Thursday. Please pray: For continued productive time for all Bible studies For transportation to and from campuses For dealing with the cult issues For my 1 on 1 time with my new friend I hope you guys are running the race with endurance. I look forward to sharing more with you about the fruits of these Bible studies in the future. Justin
