Date: Wed, 1 May 2002 23:04:21 Subject: Rolling Fellow laborers, Things are really starting to roll here in Sao Paulo. We now have a Bible study on campus (either at the main USP campus or at the law school) every day except for Fridays. This means lots of travel which means lots of time sitting on trains, busses, and subways along with lots of walking. It takes about an hour to get to the main USP campus and an hour and a half to get to the law school. Why is it so slow? The answer is simple - traffic. With 24 million people packed into the greater Sao Paulo area and the poor transportation engineering traffic problems are an inevitability. I was told that the average speed of a car or bus here is 30 kilometers per hour. Thats 20 miles per hour! Beginning tomorrow I will be doing a Bible study in English at the law school. This was really the students idea and they seemed very excited about it. All of them speak English fluently. This law school is the premier law school in the nation. The study will be held in between classes which means I only have 15 minutes to work with. Even so, I think it is an amazing opportunity and I don't take it lightly. Please pray for: Transportation headaches Using my 15 minutes effectively All the students we have in our studies This was a short update, I know, but I just wanted to give you guys a quick picture of whats currently happening. I hope you are all recognizing the blessings of God in your lives. Thanks for the prayers. Justin
