Subject: Road Trip

Friends,
	Tomorrow I am leaving for a 9 day road trip.  John, a friend of
John's from the US, and I are going to John's old home state of Mato
Grosso do Sul to do some fishing in the Pantanal.  The Pantanal is
basically a giant swamp that is teeming with wildlife (piranha, jaguars,
anacondas, etc.).  It is the largest wetland in the world.  You can find

John Grisham's "The Testament" then you will know about the area where we
are going.  We will be in the city of Corumba a lot.  In fact, John (the
missionary that I am working with) and Carl King (another missionary) were
with Grisham when he was doing research for the book.  Grisham thanked
Carl King at the end of the book.  I didn't know any of this until this
week.  Grisham might come back down this year and if he does I will be
able to meet him.  Pretty cool stuff.
	This trip will be a great time to learn about the non-city culture
of Brazil.  Plus it will give me a chance to get back out into nature for
awhile.  City life has been wearing me out.
	Please pray for safety as we travel and fish and that this will be
a good time of refreshment and renewed vigor.  I am sure I will have a
write up on the webpage soon after I get back.  I will be able to check
email while I am away so don't hesitate to send email if you wish.
